The Boss still rockin all nite
The Boss is a consummate showman who knows how to rock a crowd. Bruce ventured frequently into the adoring crowd, collecting signs containing song choices and playing "Stump the Band." A signature moment occurred during "Waiting on a Sunny Day" when Bruce brought two little girls on stage to sing the chorus, which the crowd loved. The Greenville crowd responded especially well, given that this was his first performance in the city. A world-first performance of the Stones' "Satisfaction" was a crowd favorite, with Bruce and the band tearing through the number as the audience lustily sang along. The "East St Band" was as tight as ever, with a great new addition in Jay Weinberg, who subbed admirably for his dad, Max, and really drove home uptempo numbers like "Ramrod." The band closed out the main set with the fan favorite "Born to Run," and then stormed through 7 encores, including another local favorite, "Double Shot of my baby's love," sung by the current formation of the 60's Beach Band, "The Swingin Medallions." The Boss is an ageless wonder, rocking from the opening of "Tenth Ave Freeze out" until his last of 7 encores, "Thunder Road." All in all, a fantastic show that still proves why fans love him - he works for your money and never disappoints.
